Ancient Vedic literature recommends that we incorporate into our lifestyle a program of self-examination and steady inner growth, based on spiritual strength and clarity of thought. Calming the mind is essential to any clarity of thought and it is believed that reciting Shanti (Peace) Mantras not only calm the mind of the reciter but also the environment around us.
This will be an evening of learning word-by-word 1 Shanti mantra from the Upanishads and ending with peaceful OṂ chanting. You will learn the nuances of Sanskrit grammar that influence the correct pronunciation of these mantras.
Mantra: Saṃ no mitraḥ
A stunning mantra for peace, humbly asking 8 cosmic forces including the morning, midday and evening Sun to protect the reciter. I hope this session will give you a little insight into what a cosmic force means in the Vedas and how we can collaborate with these forces for a more peaceful life!
All levels are welcome.
