Bhū or bhūmi is the globe or earth on which we live. It is a glorious place in the cosmos, for we find the marvel of life here. In the vision of the Vedas, Bhū is a divine entity, a devatā, one of the various forms of Īśvara’s manifestation. (Swami Tattvavidananda Saraswati)

We will learn the Bhū Gāyatrī mantra which is recited at the end of Bhū Sūktam, a hymn that eulogises mother earth.

“We visualise the Goddess Earth who upholds all life as the Goddess holding a bow in her hands.
By her grace, we will be able to accomplish all in life. May she inspire us”

I will explain the significance of Earth in the Vedic literature briefly. Join us for repeating this powerful verse 108 times!
