The Yoga Vasiṣṭha is an extraordinary treatise that suggests interesting and effective means to liberate the individual from his/her psychological conditionings and thus enabling them to live joyfully. It also explores the complex relationship between action, consequences, free-will, Saṃskāras and Vāsanas aimed at making Life more conscious, meaningful and graceful. This workshop introduces the text through stories, insights and techniques present there as well as some chanting to compliment the practices.

About the teachers
In a world where yoga is in fashion and often reduced to being a practice of postures and breathing exercises, Anuradha and Vinaya aspire to create awareness about the deeper and life-transforming aspects of Yoga traditions that form the core of their teachings with the hope that if more and more people start engaging genuinely with the fundamental questions about themselves and their relationship with world, we can together build a better, more harmonious and happier future for ourselves and for our future generations.
Dr. Anuradha Choudry holds a Ph.D in Sanskrit on Vedic Psychology from Pondicherry University, then received the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship of the EU for an M.Litt in Crossways in European Humanities. She is presently teaching Sanskrit, Indian Psycology, French etc in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in IIT Kharagpur. Before this, she was a Fellow at the Development Foundation and also helped establish the Centre for Indian Psychology in Jain University, Bangalore. Together with Dr. Vinayachandra, she has coedited a book titled Perspectives on Indian Psychology. She has co-authored another on Happiness: Indic Perspectives. She is also an online instructor for spoken Sanskrit and Mantras on Yogaanytime.com and has NPTEL courses on Sanskrit.
Dr. Vinayachandra Banavathy holds a PhD on psychological insights in the Vedas from Pondicherry University, Masters’ degree in Sanskrit, English, Yogic Science and Applied Psychology. Presently Director of Veda Vijnana Shodha Samsthanam, a Bangalore-based research centre working in the areas of Sanskrit, Yoga and Indic Studies. He is also the co-founder of Ritambhara, Centre for Yoga Studies.
