To end the year on an auspicious note, join us for the chanting of the Great Death Conquering mantra: Mahāmṛtyuṃjaya mantra which we will chant 108 times.
I look forward to sharing the deeper meaning of this mantra and especially its importance for all aspiring yogis. In the Yoga Sūtras we learn that ‘abhniveśa’ or the fear of death is present also in the wisest of the wise. This is a kleśa, an affliction that hinders the path of yoga without us even knowing that such a fear permeates all parts of our lives – as angst, insomnia, negativity, distress, fantasies of ‘what if’ situations, inability to think clearly, the list goes on. This fear is rooted in a basic ignorance and this mokṣa (liberation) mantra is a tool through which, with systematic practice, we can address this ignorance and change our world view to experience true freedom. Join me to learn the correct pronunciation and deeper meaning of this mantra and leave armed with an empowering daily practice for yourself.
100% of donations received for this event will go to Villa Indigo, a home for seriously/terminally ill children, who are welcomed here for short stays to help both the child as well as the family.
