“From the nature of the language and its use it is easy to conceive that there will be levels upon levels of meaning to nearly every verse of the Vedas, depending on the “level of being” or, perhaps more accurately, the “spectrum of realisation” of the listener. For within this spectrum a number of points of view will be possible, depending on the particular context” – Jean Le Mée
The Vedas are mystical powerful poetry that need a deeper understanding of its words and structure to appreciate its value to our self-growth journey. When we use a literal word by word surface translation of mantras, they do not appear to be cogent. But when we use the deeper meanings of the words, the verses indicate they contain deep helpful wisdom.
In this session, we will introduce a high level word assignment method to Veda mantras, in the way I have studied with my teachers Dr.R.L.Kashyap and his research team (lineage of Srī Aurobindo’s work)
- Symbolism in the Vedas
- General principles for word meaning assignments
- A study of mantras with the word “gau” (literally meaning cow)
