Yoga Sūtras chanting & etymology

5 Zoom classes of practising the chanting of the first chapter of Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali. We will chant 10-15 Sūtras per class depending on the progress of the group. I will explain some of the important phonetics involved in the pronunciation of the Sūtras. We will also cover some etymology of key words to help you become familiar with the vocabulary.

This is a course of 5 online classes via Zoom to understand more deeply the gods of the Veda-s or the Devatā-s. A deep understanding of spirituality, interpreted in a broad sense, is not possible without a good understanding of the nature and the role of gods mentioned in the Ṛg Veda.

A course of 5 classes to learn the famous Durgā Sūktam, a mantra from the Veda-s recited to overcome difficulties encountered in our life. This hymn of 8 mantras appears in the Mahānārāyaṇa Upaniṣat of the Yajur Veda, of which 4 mantras are also in the Ṛg Veda and addressed to Agni.

Join us online on Zoom for this course that will run from January 2021 to June 2021 on 17 Tuesday mornings (Brussels times!) to learn the most practical chapter on Yoga - Sādhana Pāda, where we are given the clear means to practice Yoga. Beginners are welcome to join.

The first 9 mantras of this hymn are a prayer to Indra, who strengthens our subtle body to receive the knowledge, the Truth.

Learning the Rudram is a serious commitment and tapas, requiring one to put forward their best effort during the learning process. In this free introduction, students will have an introduction and will be able to learn the first few mantras of this magnificent hymn.

I will also give details of the one year study program scheduled to start in March 2021.
